The new Turkish ambassador to Togo, Ms. Muteber Kılıç, was received in audience this Tuesday, October 24, 2023 at the Prime Minister’s Office by Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé. Cooperation between Ankara and Lomé was on the agenda of the discussions.

Ms. Muteber Kılıç declared at the end of the meeting that she had a very fruitful exchange with the Prime Minister, concerning the deepening of cooperative relations between Turkey and Togo.

“Turkey can contribute a lot, with its experiences, especially in the sectors of agriculture, tourism but also in the development of relations at the economic and commercial level. We have already reached the level of trade in commercial volume, at little almost $200 million last year and we will be able to do much better, I think, in the years that follow,” said the ambassador.

She was delighted with the Prime Minister’s point of view, in relation to her ideas.

“Madame the Prime Minister shared my opinions. So, we can move forward further on these points,” she continued.

The Turkish diplomat praised Togo’s efforts in terms of development.

“Togo is on the right track. Together, we could support Togo’s development,” she concluded.

The new ambassador presented her credentials on September 19, 2023 to the Head of State SEM Faure Essozimna Gnassingbé.
