The Head of the Government held talks in her office on Thursday 30 January 2025 with a delegation of the new executive board of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of Togo (CCI-Togo). The delegation was led by the chairman, José Kwassi Symenouh, who seized the opportunity to introduce the other board members. The board was appointed on 16 August 2024.
The new executive board also updated the Prime Minister on its vision for the years ahead.
The chairman of the new board of the CCI-Togo welcomed the government’s commitment to supporting the private sector. According to Mr Symenouh, the new executive board will do its utmost to help small and medium-sized businesses to grow and become major corporates. The executive board also intends to promote the private sector, in other words It will also promote the private sector, in other word to attract investors.
The chairman or the new executive board provided a brief update on one of his organisation’s flagship projects, which is to ensure that the language barrier is henceforth lifted for Togolese investors and economic operators.
“The CCI-Togo takes it upon itself to launch a “Business Language” centre in the near future, to upgrade economic operators’ skills, wherever they may be, to interact in English, German and Chinese in particular with their counterparts in other countries,” he added.
“Today, we look forward to injecting a touch of vitality and dynamism into the chamber of commerce for the private sector to perform at the expected standards, so as to give a sense of pride to those in power. And what’s special is that we have a consular assembly made up of big companies capable of lifting to smaller ones to the top,” he pointed out.
