On Thursday 23 May 2024, Prime Minister Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé held discussions in her office with the new Chairperson of the Regional Consular Chamber of the West African Economic and Monetary Union (CCR-UEMOA), Hélèna Maria José Nosolini Embalo. She briefed the Prime Minister on the outlines of her term of office.
According to Ms Embalo, after the renewal of the CCR-UEMOA’s governing bodies, it is important to update on the institution’s strategic priority areas for the next three years. Ms Embalo seized the opportunity to brief the Prime Minister on major issues she intends to address during her term in office.
“The Prime Minister encouraged me on my new mission. We exchanged views on the broad outlines of my program and my takeaway from the meeting relates to the support the government can provide for our chamber to undertake its work and promote community entrepreneurship, private sector development and economic and social development,” she disclosed.
The new chairperson of CCR-UEMOA emphasised the need to strengthen competitiveness for the private sector to play its part in strengthening the economy and boost trade in the UEMOA region.
