Compact Program: the Prime Minister exchanges with the Vice-President of the MCC

Senior Assistant Vice President and Head of the Africa Region at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) of the American government, Ms. Kyeh Kim, was received this Tuesday, May 23, 2023 at the Prime Minister’s Office by the head of government, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé. On the agenda of the discussions, the identification of the government’s priority sectors for the development of the Compact program.

“We are exploring the two sectors of energy and digital which will transform the country and contribute to shared economic growth for the Togolese population. We are in the process of developing the Compact, we have launched two missions of Washington DC this week to work with their Togolese counterparts to decide on priority projects for this Compact,” said Ms. Kyeh Kim, Senior Assistant Vice President and Head of the Africa Region at MCC.

She congratulated the government for obtaining the Compact, the result of reforms carried out in several areas.

“We are very optimistic with the commitment of the Togolese government and the partnership between MCC and Togo,” she continued.

The development phase of the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) Compact program is ongoing. It consists of selecting the priority projects of the program which will then be approved by the MCC board of directors.
