At the end of his mission, the German Ambassador to Togo bids “goodbye” to the Prime Minister

The Ambassador of the Federal Republic of Germany, Matthias Veltin, is at the end of his mission in Togo. After 4 years spent in the country, the German diplomat went to say goodbye this Wednesday July 5, 2023 to the Prime Minister, Victoire Tomégah-Dogbé.

Opportunity for the two personalities to take stock of cooperation between Berlin and Lomé over the past four years.

“I have already been stationed in Togo for 4 years. I am almost at the end of my mission and I wanted to express my gratitude to all the Togolese for the welcome and the excellent relations that I have been able to maintain here. With Madam Prime Minister, I had long discussions on all sectors of our cooperation, in particular decentralization, health, energy and other areas such as research and migration issues,” declared Matthias Veltin , Ambassador of Germany to Togo.

The discussions also focused on current events in the sub-region with security issues in the background.

“I have once again renewed Germany’s promise and commitment to do more in this security sector in accordance with Togo’s requirements, particularly with regard to the PURS program for the North.”, indicated the German diplomat.

“I have seen remarkable progress regarding the development of Togo,” he concluded.

Ambassador Matthias Veltin joins his new post in Abidjan, Ivory Coast.
